Alexander Global Logistics (AGL) has been providing logistical support to the world’s largest energy-from-waste plants around the globe in Warsan, Dubai.

Once operational, the facility will treat 1,900,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste per year. It will process up to 45% of all waste produced from landfills and will produce up to 200 MW of thermal energy, which will be fed into the local grid. The AGL project team was responsible for the transportation of: Generator set from Germany

- Turbine set and e-house set from the Czech Republic
- IOS set from Italy
- Accessories parts from Africa

For this multi-transport project, the AGL team applied for special and heavy transport permits and surveyed the brides on the route, which took about six to eight weeks. Once the necessary permits were obtained, the cargo was transported using both a barge and trucks to the port of Antwerp. This was due to the weight of the generator (207 tons) and turbines(125 tons). To ensure safe and quick movement, AGL used all shipping types. At the outset, the special and heavy parts were shipped as breakbulk with charter, container and RORO vessels from Antwerp, Belgium, to the Port of Jebel Ali in Dubai.

AGL needed two nights for the road transportation of the generator and turbine from Jebel Ali Port to the mill site in Warsan, Dubai, which is approximately 200 kilometres away. Heartiest congratulations to the team on this successful delivery!
