AGL demonstrated their logistical ability by coordinating the transport of two massive tanks, each measuring 21.00 x 4.57 x 4.96 meters and weighting 75 tons, from Ankara to Mannheim via Antwerp.
The project, which included sea freight, harbour operations, inland waterway transport, and road transport inside Mannheim, highlighted AGL's comprehensive skill in dealing with complex logistics operations. Before the project could start, we first had to wait four months for the transport permit and then conduct several site visits with the responsible authorities to determine the complete transport procedures.
sea freight from the Turkish harbor to Antwerp was transported on charter vessel. The first port operations were carried out in Antwerp, and the tanks were transported to Mannheim on an inland vessel.
The complex part took place in Mannheim, where the tanks were transferred from an inland vessel to vessel bridge trailer, which was over 25 m long. The total length of the truck and trailer was 55 m. This occurred on a private site that we had prepared for the project. Finally, we then set off on the previously prepared 10-kilometer route, which took us along German country roads and motorways. For this, we had to deconstruct traffic signs, motorway sign gantries, traffic lights, and various lanterns. After four hours of driving with BF4 company, we finished with the tanks reaching their final destination at Essity in Mannheim.
This project is showcasing AGL's ability to manage every aspect of the transport process with precision and efficiency. Throughout the project, AGL demonstrated their commitment to careful planning, key coordination, and consideration to detail. The successful completion of this complicated logistics project not only underlines AGL's capabilities, but also positions the company for future success in tackling even more challenging and ambitious projects.
