Recently, Alexander Global Logistics received an order from Logistics Plus LLC, Saudi Arabia.
The tight capacity at container shipping companies drastically impacts the ability to deliver on schedule at construction sites worldwide. Originally, 73.5 tonnes of steel pipes were to be shipped to Saudi Arabia by sea freight in 40'OT containers. However, the next ship would have arrived in Jeddah too late due to a lack of bookable capacity. Therefore the customer opted for air freight at short notice. The goods were 73.5 tonnes of unpacked steel pipes, which were lying at the port of Hamburg. These were taken over in the port and dried and packed in specially made corrosion-protected boxes within four working days. The steel pipes were then transported by truck to Liege in Belgium, where they were flown directly to Jeddah on three B747 Noseloaders. Thanks to the smooth coordination and flexibility of Alexander Global Logistics GmbH, the deadline at the construction site was met, and the work continued without delays.
